About the team

What is the LSAT?

The Local School Advisory Team is an advisory group of elected and appointed school-community representatives. Every DC Public Schools (DCPS) school has an LSAT to help ensure that different perspectives inform school improvement conversations.

Advisory role: The LSAT offers input, recommendations, and perspective to the principal. It does not replace the principal's authority or make final school budget or administrative decisions.

Representation

Whose voices are represented?

LSAT membership brings together people who know the school from different perspectives.

Parents & guardians
Teachers
Non-instructional staff
Community members
Students, where represented
